Birding, the experience, is hard to describe with just words. The thrill of finding a new species. The mystery and challenges of a tricky identification. The sharing of wisdom about specific species, bird behaviors, history, and folklore can be magical.
Mother Nature and her weather present challenges that we birders must work with wisely. Habitats vary throughout our county and state. Knowing where to be and when can make all the difference. I have the experience and insight to plan the perfect birding adventure.
Migration means that just about anything can happen - any bird can turn up - in the strangest of places! With each passing week throughout the year, the opportunities to find and enjoy new species of birds continually unfolds for us.
The joy experienced from getting that epic photo, or seeing that sought after life bird… sheer exhilaration.

Let's Go Birding
Have you been stressed out lately? Feel disconnected? Do you want to enjoy the great outdoors, see / hear / learn about some beautiful birds? Do you need to reconnect with the natural world, take some photos, create lasting memories, and learn a thing or two about our feathered friends? Me too.
Birding Excursions
So I am offering personalized excursions in and around Maryland. The walks / trips / excursions can be as brief as an hour, or as long as a full day or weekend. I’m open to all sorts of possibilities. We can make the walk accessible - perfect for all - as challenging as birding in a chair, or we can hike deep into the brush and off the trail.
What About Groups?
Have more than 15 friends or coworkers who are also interested in experiencing Maryland’s wild side? No worries. I have some incredibly skilled and knowledgeable friends who are some of the world’s greatest birders. In other words, I know people who would gladly help facilitate larger groups.
Experience
I have been birding for as long as I can remember. My life list isn’t huge (I have been staying close to home, what with so many music gigs). Proudly, I’ve observed 325 species of birds in Anne Arundel County, and 395 in Maryland.

Send me an email. Let me know what birds you’d wish to see, and where you’d like to visit. From there, we can confirm dates, times, and logistics. My rates are $50 an hour, for local adventures within Anne Arundel County. Everything else is negotiable! Trips to Western Maryland or the Eastern Shore would be great. Let’s do it! I’d even entertain regional mega-hotspots like Kiptopeake, Chincoteague, the Outer Banks, Cape May, Delaware marshes, and Hawk Mountain.
